Description

E5044 | MIA (Human) ELISA Kit DataSheet

MIA also known as Melanoma Inhibitory Activity Protein 1 is a 12-kDa protein secreted by melanoma tumor cells. It is thought to play a role in detachment of cells from surrounding matrix. MIA has been reported to have effects on cell growth and adhesion, and it has a role in melanoma metastasis and cartilage development. It is a clinically valuable marker in patients with malignant melanoma, as enhanced values diagnose metastatic melanoma stages III and IV as well as a for rheumatoid arthritis. ’s MIA (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of MIA in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of MIA in the sample.
