Description
Cell-permeable. Rose Bengal is a polyhalogenated fluorescein derivative that acts as a potent inhibitor (K(i) = 19 nM) of glutamate uptake into isolated synaptic vesicles. This vesicular Glu uptake inhibition was achieved largely without affecting H(⁺)-pump ATPase.
