TSP expression is highly regulated by different hormones and cytokines and is developmentally controlled. TSP stimulates the growth of Vascular smooth muscle cells and human foreskin fibroblasts, a combination of IFN- and TNF- inhibits TSP production in these cells. Recombinant Human Thrombospondin is glycosylated with N-linked sugars and produced using baculovirus vectors in insect cells. Human Thrombospondin is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
