Background: EDTA is a chemical chelating agent that can chelate divalent metal ions such as Ca2 + and Mg2 +. Its solution is also called Versene solution. Because Ca2 + and Mg2 + are important components of cell membranes and have the function of agglutinating cells, EDTA can destroy the connection between cells and promote the dissociation of cells into single cells.
