Background: AMPKβ1 is a member of the SNF1 kinase family. It is a heterotrimeric protein comprising of an alpha (catalytic), beta (non-catalytic) and gamma (non-catalytic) subunits, 63, 38 and 38kDa respectively.AMPKβ1 regulates fatty acid and sterol synthesis by phosphorylation of acteyl-coA. It also regulates cholesterol synthesis via phosphorylation and in-activation of hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase. Two isoforms of AMPKβ1 have been found.
Storage & Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: p-AMPKβ1 (S181) polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of AMPKβ1 protein only when phosphorylated at Ser181
Molecular Weight: ~ 38 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Alternative Names: 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase subunit beta-1; AMPK subunit beta-1; AMPKb; PRKAB1; AMPK; AMPK β1
Immunogen: Synthetic phosphopeptide derived from human AMPKβ1 around the phosphorylation site of Serine 181.
Conjugate: Unconjugated
Modification: Phosphorylation
Purification & Purity: The Antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE) .
