Description
The mosquito-borne Dengue viruses (serotype 1-4) cause dengue fever, a severe flu-like illness. The disease is prevalent in Third World tropical regions, and continues to spread to sub-tropical developed countries, as well the United States. The Dengue viral genome consists of a single-stranded RNA that encodes a single polyprotein. The Dengue genome polyprotein, upon translation, is then co- and post-translationally cleaved into 11 mature proteins, including the envelope protein E. Envelope protein E plays a role in virion budding as well as mediating fusion between viral and cellular membranes. This research-grade biosimilar is a humanized antibody that targets the Dengue envelope protein E.
