Product Category: Polyclonal Antibodies

Host: Rabbit

Species Reactivity: H

Specificity: This BAHD1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 750-777 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human BAHD1.

Cellular Localisation: Nucleus. Chromosome. Note=Localizes to heterochromatin and inactive X chromosome. Colocalizes with histone H3 trimethylated at 'Lys-27' (H3K27me3)

Molecular Weight: 84652

Clone: Polyclonal

Gene Name: BAHD1

Gene ID: 22893

Function: Heterochromatin protein that acts as a transcription repressor and has the ability to promote the formation of large heterochromatic domains. May act by recruiting heterochromatin proteins such as CBX5 (HP1 alpha), HDAC5 and MBD1. Represses IGF2 expression by binding to its CpG-rich P3 promoter and recruiting heterochromatin proteins. At specific stages of Listeria infection, in complex with TRIM28, corepresses interferon-stimulated genes, including IFNL1, IFNL2 and IFNL3.

Summary: N/A

Form: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.

Storage: Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
