Background: Bone morphogenetic protein-7 (BMP-7), also known as osteogenic protein-1, is a member of the TGF- superfamily, and is widely expressed during embryonic development. Like other members of the bone morphogenetic protein family, BMP-7 works synergistically with BMP-2 to play a key role in the differentiation of mesenchymal cells into bone and cartilage tissues by actively recruiting stem cells from the surrounding tissue, thereby initiating the bone formation cascade. In adult cells, BMP-7 is predominately expressed in the brain, kidneys, and bladder.
Storage & Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: BMP-7 (E173) polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of BMP-7 protein.
Molecular Weight: ~ 49 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Alternative Names: Bone morphogenetic protein 7; BMP-7; Osteogenic protein 1; OP-1; INN=Eptotermin alfa; BMP7; OP1
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 140-190 of Human BMP-7.
Conjugate: Unconjugated
Modification: Unmodification
Purification & Purity: The Antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE) .
