Description

CCL16 (Human) ELISA Kit | E5116-100

Description: CCL16 is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is known under several pseudonyms, including Liver-expressed chemokine (LEC) and Monotactin-1 (MTN-1). This chemokine is expressed by the liver, thymus, and spleen and is chemo attractive for monocytes and lymphocytes. It shows chemotactic activity for lymphocytes and monocytes but not neutrophils. Also shows potent myelosuppressive activity, suppresses proliferation of myeloid progenitor cells. CCL16 elicits its effects on cells by interacting with cell surface chemokine receptors such as CCR1, CCR2, CCR5 and CCR8. CCL16 may be useful for trafficking eosinophils. It plays a role in hepatic vascular formation during development and in angiogenesis associated to hepatic diseases. CCL16 also acts as an effective target for breast cancer therapy. ’s CCL16 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of CCL16 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates another biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of CCL16 in the sample.
