Chemerin is a chemoattractant protein expressed in white adipose, liver and lung tissues. It is encoded by the gene retinoic acid receptor responder 2 (Rarres2) which is also known as tazarotene-induced gene 2 (TIG2). It is an adipokine which plays an important role in inflammation, adipogenesis and glucose homeostasis through the receptor CMKLR1. It is increased in patients with obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. ’s Chemerin (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of Chemerin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of Chemerin in the sample.
