Function: Involved in fertilization by facilitating sperm penetration of the zona pellucida. May promote spermatocyte apoptosis, thereby limiting sperm production. In adults, may reduce testosterone synthesis in Leydig cells. Is not essential either for development or fertility.

Summary: Tissue Location: More highly expressed in adult testis than in fetal testis. Exclusively expressed in the testis (at protein level) . Intense expression in stages II, III and IV of spermatogenesis, whereas expression is lower in stage I.

Form: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein G column, eluted with high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately, followed by dialysis against PBS.

Storage: Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
