Description

Human Coxsackievirus A16 IgG antibody (CVA16-Ab-IgG) ELISA Kit | KTE62517 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Application: This Human Coxsackievirus A16 IgG antibody (CVA16-Ab-IgG) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate CVA16-Ab-IgG in samples. An antibody specific for CVA16-Ab-IgG has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyCVA16-Ab-IgG present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CVA16-Ab-IgG is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CVA16-Ab-IgG bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Detection Method: Colorimetric

Background: Coxsackievirus is a member of a family of viruses called enteroviruses. Enteroviruses are made up of a single strand of ribonucleic acid (RNA) . The enteroviruses are also referred to as picornaviruses (pico means "small, " so, "small RNA viruses") . Coxsackievirus was first found in the town of Coxsackie, located south of Albany in New York.
