Human TNF-β protein | PRP100078 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Product Category: Cytology

Application: Cytokines

Product Type: Cytokines

Sequence: Amino acid sequence derived from mature form of human TNF-β (P01374) (Leu 35-Leu 205) was expressed and purified, with an initial Met at the N-terminus.

Activity: Measured in a cytotoxicity assay using L929 mouse fibrosarcoma cells in the presence of the metabolic inhibitor actinomycin D. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.01-0.1 ng/ml.

protein Lenght: The recombinant human TNF-β comprises 172 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 18.8 kDa as estimated in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.

Preparation: E. coli

Purity: > 97 % as determined by SDS-PAGE

Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile 50mM Tris, pH 8.0

Kit Component: N/A

Features & Benefits : N/A

Molecular Weight: 18.8 kDa

Usage Note: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human TNF-beta protein in sterile ddH2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Storage Conditions: Lyophilized Human TNF-β proteinshould be stored desiccated below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.37% HSA or BSA) . Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature.

Background: Lymphotoxin-α, also known as LT-α, TNF-β, Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 1, LTA TNFSF1 and TNFB, is a secreted protein which belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. TNF-β/TNFSF1/Lymphotoxin α is a highly inducible, secreted, and exists as homotrimeric molecule. It is a cytokine that in its homotrimeric form binds to TNFRSF1A / TNFR1, TNFRSF1B / TNFBR and TNFRSF14 / HVEM. In its heterotrimeric form with LTB, TNF-β/TNFSF1/Lymphotoxin α binds to TNFRSF3 / LTBR. Lymphotoxin is produced by lymphocytes and cytotoxic for a wide range of tumor cells. TNF-β/TNFSF1/Lymphotoxin α forms heterotrimers with lymphotoxin-β which anchors lymphotoxin-α to the cell surface. It mediates a large variety of inflammatory, immunostimulatory, and antiviral responses. TNF-β/TNFSF1/Lymphotoxin α is also involved in the formation of secondary lymphoid organs during development and plays a role in apoptosis. Genetic variations in TNF-β/TNFSF1/Lymphotoxin α are a cause of susceptibility psoriatic arthritis which is an inflammatory, seronegative arthritis associated with psoriasis. It is a heterogeneous disorder ranging from a mild, non-destructive disease to a severe, progressive, erosive arthropathy.
