BACKGROUND: FUNCTION: Integrin α-X/β-2 is a receptor for fibrinogen. It recognizes the sequence G-P-R in fibrinogen. It mediates cell-cell interaction during inflammatory responses. It is especially important in monocyte adhesion and chemotaxis.
SUBUNIT: Heterodimer of an α and a β subunit. α-X associates with β-2.
SIMILARITY: Contains 1 VWFA domain.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; single-pass type I membrane protein.
