Lysine-specific Demethylase Inhibitor (1C) inhibits Lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1). LSD1 removes methyl groups from histones. The inhibitor LSD 1C increased H3K4me1 and H3K4me2, without affecting H3K9me2 levels. It induced the re-expression of aberrantly silenced genes important in the development of colon cancer, including SFRPs and GATA5.
