Description

NMDA NR1 Antibody [R1JHL] | XPS-2019 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Host: Mouse

Reactivity: Rat

Homology: N/A

Immunogen: NMDA NR1 Subunit monoclonal antibody was raised against a fusion protein from AA 1 - 564 of NMDA NR1.

Research Area: Neuroscience

Tested Application: WB, IP

Application: NMDA NR1 Subunit antibody allows for strong and specific immunolabeling of the 120k NR1 protein in Western blots of rat brain hippocampal homogenate. Applications include Dot Blots (DB) , Immunoprecipitation (IP) and Western Blots (WB) . Mouse anti-NMDA NR1 Subunit recognizes NR1 in human, mouse and rat brain lysates. When internally tested under ideal conditions the working dilutions were 1:300 for DB and WB, and 3 μg per 200 μg lysate (will quantitatively precipitate all the NMDA NR1 in 200 μg of rat brain lysate) .

BACKGROUND: The ion channels activated by glutamate are typically divided into two classes. Those that are sensitive to N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) are designated NMDA receptors (NMDAR) . The NMDAR plays an essential role in memory, neuronal development and it has also been implicated in several disorders of the central nervous system including Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy and ischemic neuronal cell death. Increased membrane surface expression of the NR1 subunit of the receptor has been associated with synaptic plasticity.
