Description

NMDA NR2A Antibody | XPS-2024 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Host: Rabbit

Reactivity: Human, Rat

Homology: N/A

Immunogen: NMDA NR2A polyclonal antibody was raised against a C-terminal fusion protein of the NR2A subunit of the NMDAR.

Research Area: Neuroscience

Tested Application: WB, IHC, IP

Application: NMDA NR2A Subunit antibody is specific for the 180k NR2A subunit in Western blots of most brain regions. Immunolabeling blocked by pre-adsorption of antibody with the C-terminal fusion protein of the NR2A subunit that was used to generate the antibody. No reactivity towards the NR2B subunit of the NMDAR. Applications include Dot Blots (DB) , Immunohistochemistry (IHC) , Immunoprecipitation (IP) and Western Blots (WB) . Human, mouse, and rat have 100% amino acid sequence identity with the antigen used to raise the antibody. When internally tested under ideal conditions the working dilutions were 1:1000 for IHC, DB and WB, and 3 μg/200 μg lysate will quantitatively precipitate all NMDAR 2A for IP.

User Note: Optimal dilutions for each application to be determined by the researcher.

BACKGROUND: The ion channels activated by glutamate are typically divided into two classes. Those that are sensitive to N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) are designated NMDA receptors (NMDAR) . The NMDAR plays an essential role in memory, neuronal development and it has also been implicated in several disorders of the central nervous system including Alzheimer’s, epilepsy and ischemic neuronal cell death. Increased membrane surface expression of the NR2A subunit of the receptor has been associated synaptic plasticity.
