Background: PA200 (Proteasome activator PA200) is an associated component of the proteasome that specifically recognizes acetylated histones and promotes ATP- and ubiquitin-independent degradation of core histones during DNA damage response. It also recognizes and binds acetylated histones via its bromodomain-like (BRDL) region and activates the proteasome by opening the gated channel for substrate entry. Binds to the core proteasome via its C-terminus, which occupies the same binding sites as the proteasomal ATPases, opening the closed structure of the proteasome via an active gating mechanism. involved in DNA damage response: binds to acetylated histones and promotes degradation of histones. Protein levels increase upon exposure of seedlings to MG132, a specific, potent, reversible, and cell-permeable proteasome inhibitor. Alternative names: Proteasome activator subunit 4, Proteasome activating protein 200.

Reconstitution: For reconstitution add 50 µl, of sterile water

Storage: Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C (short tem, months) or at -80°C (long term, years) ; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
