Tissue-Tek® O.C.T. Compound is a clear, water-soluble mixture of glycols and resins. It is used for embedding fresh tissue specimens for frozen sections using a cryostat. With the Tissue-Tek® O.C.T.

The abbreviation “O.C.T.” stands for “Optimal Cutting Temperature” and this is exactly what this refined formulation provides.

Compound embedded samples are quickly ready for sectioning due to its high viscosity, which contributes to a faster freezing.

Our Tissue-Tek® O.C.T. Compound provides a solid matrix to encapsulate tissue specimens and bond to the Specimen Holder for consistent sectioning in a cryostat working temperature of -10°C and below.

The Tissue-Tek® O.C.T. Compound is available in stock in single bottles of 125ml, or in a bulk pack of 12x 125ml and with a next day delivery.
