Description

ZBTB8 Antibody | 6129 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Host: Rabbit

Reactivity: Human, Mouse

Homology: Predicted species reactivity based on immunogen sequence: Bovine: (100%) , Rat: (100%)

Immunogen: ZBTB8 antibody was raised against a 17 amino acid synthetic peptide near the carboxy terminus of human ZBTB8.
The immunogen is located within the last 50 amino acids of ZBTB8.

Research Area: Cancer, Cell Cycle

Tested Application: E, WB, IHC-P, IF

Application: ZBTB8 antibody can be used for detection of ZBTB8 by Western blot at 1 μg/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 2.5 μg/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 5 μg/mL.
Antibody validated: Western Blot in mouse samples; Immunohistochemistry in human samples and Immunofluorescence in human samples. All other applications and species not yet tested.

Specificiy: At least two isoforms of ZBTB8 are known to exist; this antibody will recognize both isoforms. This antibody is predicted to not cross-react with other ZBTB protein family members.

User Note: Optimal dilutions for each application to be determined by the researcher.

BACKGROUND: ZBTB8 Antibody: The ZBTB family of proteins is comprised of diverse zinc finger proteins that also contain a BTB (BR-C, ttk and bab) domain. ZBTB8, also known as BOZ-F1, is present in multiple tissues, and is highly expressed in the cytoplasm of the placenta. While little is known about ZBTB8, other ZBTB proteins, such as ZBTB4 bind methylated DNA and repress transcription. Another ZBTB proteins, ZBTB7A, has been implicated as a proto-oncogene whose overexpression contributes to malignancy in breast cancer, suggesting that ZBTB8 may act as a transcriptional repressor or be involved in tumorigenesis.
