Description: ADAMTSs (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) are secreted metalloproteinases that are known for their crucial role in development, angiogenesis, inflammation and coagulation. ADAMTS family members share several distinct protein modules, including a propeptide region, a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain, and a thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif. Individual members of this family differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs, and some have unique C-terminal domains. It plays a major role in the assembly and degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM). ADAMTS18 expression levels were significantly decreased in cervical cancer tissues compared with normal tissues and it decreased gradually from early stage to late stage. It plays an important role in cancer progression and metastasis in different cancer type and acts as a potential prognostic biomarker for cervical cancer. ’s ADAS18 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of ADAMTS18 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of ADAMTS18 in the sample.
