Description
A diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT) inhibitor. Shows inhibitory effect in rat liver microsomes (IC₅₀ = 10.2 µM) and Raji cells (IC₅₀ = 15.5 µM). Excessive accumulation of triacetylglycerol produced by DGAT may cause fatty liver, obesity and hypertriglyceridemia, which may lead to atherosclerosis, diabetes and metabolic disorders.
