Backgound: Apoptotic cells undergo a number of important changes, including cell shrinkage, cytoplasmic agglutination, DNA disruption, and formation of membrane vesicles, leading to the separation of cell components to form apoptotic bodies, which are then phagocytic by macrophages or parenchyma cells. The Apoptosis Detection Kit detects apoptosis based on changes in phosphatidylserine (PS) turnover of cell membrane and nuclear rupture.
