Description
Atglistatin is a potent, and selective inhibitor of adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL) the rate limiting enzyme involved in fatty acid mobilization and prevention of lipolysis. It does not inhibit hormone-sensitive lipase, monoglyceride lipase, pancreatic lipase, lipoprotein lipase, or other lysophospholipases. Atglistatin also prevents triglyceride accumulation after acute myocardial infarction, displaying cardioprotective benefit.
