Description
Bacitracin is a peptide antibiotic and an inhibitor of peptidoglycan synthesis. Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by inhibiting dephosphorylation of lipid pyrophosphate. Bacitracin is used to study disruption of bacterial cell wall synthesis at the level of peptidoglycan cross-linking and isoprenyl metabolism.
