Description
Bardoxolone is a synthetic oleanane triterpenoid that inhibits cellular iNOS production when stimulated by IFNg, TNF-α and IL-1. It is Reata’s investigational lead molecule for CKD (chronic kidney disease). It is a potent inducer of the transcription factor Nrf2 which is an important biological target that controls the production of many of the body’s antioxidant and detoxification enzymes.
