BACKGROUND: The mCD301 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to mouse CD30, a member of the Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor (TNFR) superfamily. It is expressed on activated T, B, NK, and monocyte cells. Its expression on activated T lymphocytes is regulated by cytokines and CD28. The ligand for CD30 is CD153. It has been suggested that the molecule plays a role in the protection against autoimmunity and the regulation of Th1 and Th2 cytokine secretion.
