Description
CLCN2 Antibody (N-term) [APG02626G] | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution
Product Category: Polyclonal Antibodies
Host: Rabbit
Species Reactivity: H, M
Specificity: This CLCN2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 209-237 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human CLCN2.
Cellular Localisation: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Molecular Weight: 98535
Clone: Polyclonal
Gene Name: CLCN2
Gene ID: 1181
Function: Voltage-gated chloride channel. Chloride channels have several functions including the regulation of cell volume, membrane potential stabilization, signal transduction and transepithelial transport. Involved in the regulation of aldosterone production. The opening of CLCN2 channels at hyperpolarized membrane potentials in the glomerulosa causes cell membrane depolarization, activation of voltage- gated Ca2+ channels and increased expression of aldosterone synthase, the rate-limiting enzyme for aldosterone biosynthesis (PubMed:29403011, PubMed:29403012) .
Summary: Tissue Location: Ubiquitously expressed. Moderately expressed in aortic and coronary vascular smooth muscle cells and expressed at a low level in aortic endothelial cells. Expressed in the adrenal gland, predominantly in the zona glomerulosa (PubMed:29403011)
Form: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Storage: Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Application: WB
Dilution: WB--1:1000
Synonyms: Chloride channel protein 2, ClC-2, CLCN2
