Description
E5020 | D-Dimer (Human) ELISA Kit DataSheet
D-Dimer (D2D) is a small protein fragment present in the blood when the blood clot undergoes degradation by fibrinolysis. As a result of tissue or blood vessel injury, the human body initiates a process called hemostasis to create a blood clot to halt bleeding. During the clot formation, the D subunits form a bond with two platelets. When the injured tissue/blood vessel begins to heal, the blood clot breaks down into smaller fibrin degradation products. One of these fibrin degradation products is called a D-Dimer. D-Dimer currently serves as an efficient biomarker to detect blood clotting disorders such as Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Pulmonary embolism (PE), Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and stroke. ’s D-Dimer (Human) ELISA kit quantitatively measures D-Dimer in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and then washed with Wash Buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added to the plate, and post-incubation any unattached conjugates are washed off by Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of D-Dimer in the sample or standard.
