DECTIN-1 is a 28 kDa type II transmembrane protein that belongs to the C-type lectin/C-type lectin-like domain (CTL/CTLD) superfamily. It is expressed on macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, and T-cells. DECTIN-1 recognizes the β-1,3-linked and β-1,6-linked glucans on the cell wall of fungi and bacteria and mediates an innate immune response against these fungal and bacterial pathogens. It triggers the expression of multiple inflammatory cytokines and chemokines such as TNF, IL-2, IL-6 and prevents fungal infection. Other functions of DECTIN-1 include respiratory burst, maturation of dendritic cells, and phagocytosis of the ligand. Therefore, DECTIN-1 could be considered a promising target for the treatment of infectious diseases. ’s DECTIN-1 (Human) ELISA kit quantitatively measures DECTIN-1 in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and then washed with Wash Buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added to the plate, and post-incubation any unattached conjugates are washed off by Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of DECTIN-1 in the sample or standard.
