Description
Destruxin A is a cyclic hexadepsipeptide metabolite from the fungus Metarhizium anisopliae. It shows insecticidal and anti-cancer properties. It induces a concentration-dependent antiproliferative effect on lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells, with an IC₅₀ value of 4.9 μM. It induces apoptosis in the human non-small cell lung cancer cells A549 and H1299 cells via a Bcl-2 family-dependent mitochondrial pathway.
