Digitoxin is a lipid soluble cardiac glycoside that acts as an inhibitor of plasma membrane Na+/K+-ATPase (EC₅₀ = 0.78 µM). Digitoxin shows a significantly cytotoxic effect in H1975 cells by causing G2 phase arrest.
