Doxorubicin HCl is loaded into PEGylated liposomes composed of HSPC/CHOL/mPEG2000-DSPE (56.2:38.5:5.3 mol/mol) with ammonium gradient by the active loading approach. It is comparable to the commercial product DOXIL®. The liposomes are prepared to very high quality with consistent lot-lot characteristics. Narrow particle size distribution and high drug encapsulation efficiency. Note the high drug concentration (4mg/mL compared to 2 mg/mL for DOXIL®) allows the researchers to perform experiments at higher concentrations/doses.
