EGFR (phospho-Y1148) polyclonal Antibody | BS6354 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Host: Rabbit

Reactivity: Human

Application: WB

Application Range: WB 1:500 - 1:2000

Background: EGFR (Epidermal growth factor receptor, ErbB-1) is a receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) that is one of four members of the EGFR/ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases. EGFR plays a key role in the regulation of essential normal cellular processes and in the pathophysiology of hyperproliferative diseases such as cancer. Activation of the EGFR signaling pathway has been linked with increased cell proliferation, angiogenesis, metastasis and decreased apoptosis. The GRB2 adaptor protein binds activated EGFR at phospho-Tyr1068. A pair of phosphorylated EGFR residues (Tyr1148 and Tyr1173) provide a docking site for the Shc scaffold protein, with both sites involved in MAP kinase signaling activation.

Storage & Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity: p-EGFR (Y1148) polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of EGFR protein only when phosphorylated at Tyr1148 (removal of the signal peptide) .

Molecular Weight: ~ 175 kDa

Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.

Alternative Names: Epidermal growth factor receptor; EC=2.7.10.1; Proto-oncogene c-ErbB-1; Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-1; ERBB; ERBB1; HER1; EGFR

Immunogen: Synthetic phosphopeptide derived from human EGFR around the phosphorylation site of Tyrosine 1148.

Conjugate: Unconjugated

Modification: Phosphorylation

Purification & Purity: The Antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE) .

Pathway: PI3K AKT signaling,Hypoxia Signaling,Insulin &Glucose Signaling,MTOR signaling,
