Application Range: IHC: 1:50~1:200
Background: Galectins are a family of soluble β-galactoside-binding animal lectins that modulate cell-to-cell adhesion and cell-to-extracellular matrix (ECM) interactions and play a role in tumor progression, pre-mRNA splicing and apoptosis. Galectin-7, expressed mainly in stratified squamous epithelium, is activated by p53 and repressed by retinoic acid. It is a pro-apoptotic protein that functions intracellularly upstream of JNK activation and cytochrome c release. The galectin-7 gene maps to chromosome 19.
Storage & Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: Galectin-7 (Q67) polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of Galectin-7 protein.
Molecular Weight: ~ 15 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Alternative Names: Galectin7; Gal-7; HKL-14; Galectin 7; Gal7; HKL14; PI7; p53-induced gene 1 protein; LGALS7; PIG1; LGALS7B
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 50-100 of Human Galectin-7.
Conjugate: Unconjugated
