BACKGROUND: Heartland Virus Glycoprotein 2 Antibody: The Heartland virus is a newly identified member of the phlebovirus genus of the Bunyaviridae family. Initial reports indicate that symptoms may include fever, fatigue, diarrhea, thrombocytopenia, and leukopenia (1) . The Bunyaviridae family of viruses are spherical enveloped viruses with a tripartite RNA genome of negative or ambisense polarity (2) . The glycoprotein RNA encodes a polyprotein that is cleaved into the G1 and G2 proteins.
