Description

HOPX Antibody | 8143 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Host: Rabbit

Reactivity: Human

Homology: Predicted species reactivity based on immunogen sequence: Rat: (88%) , Mouse: (88%) , Bovine: (88%) , Pig: (81%) , Chicken: (81%)

Immunogen: HOPX antibody was raised against a 16 amino acid peptide near the amino terminus of human HOPX.
The immunogen is located within the first 50 amino acids of HOPX.

Research Area: Cancer, Stem Cell

Tested Application: E, WB, IHC-P, IF

Application: HOPX antibody can be used for detection of HOPX by Western blot at 1 - 2 μg/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 5 μg/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 μg/mL.
Antibody validated: Western Blot in human samples; Immunohistochemistry in human samples and Immunofluorescence in human samples. All other applications and species not yet tested.

Specificiy: HOPX antibody is human specific. At least three isoforms of HOPX are known to exist; this antibody will detect all three isoforms.

User Note: Optimal dilutions for each application to be determined by the researcher.

BACKGROUND: HOPX is a small homeodomain protein that lacks normally conserved residues required for DNA binding (1) . It is thought to act downstream of NKX2-5 and modulates serum response factor (SRF) -dependent cardiac-specific gene expression and cardiac development (1) . HOPX also acts a tumor suppressor gene in multiple tumors and cancer cell lines (2, 3) . HOPX has been reported to regulate the proliferation/differentiation homeostasis in different cell types, including keratinocytes (4) .
