Description

Human IL-24 protein, His Tag | PRP100299 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Product Category: Cytology

Application: Cytokines

Product Type: Cytokines

Sequence: Amino acid sequence derived from human IL-24 isoform 3 (NP_001172085.1) (Met 1-Leu 207) was fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

Activity: Measured in a cell proliferation assay using BaF3 mouse pro-B cells transfected with human IL20 Rα and human IL20 Rβ. The EC50 for this effect is typically 0.05-0.25 ng/mL.

protein Lenght: The secreted recombinant human IL-24 consists of 166 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 19.5 kDa. As a result of different glycosylation, the apparent molecular mass of rhIL-24 is approximately 35 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.

Preparation: HEK293 Cells

Purity: > 94 % as determined by SDS-PAGE

Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4

Kit Component: N/A

Features & Benefits : N/A

Molecular Weight: 19.5 kDa

Usage Note: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human IL24 protein, His Tag in sterile ddH2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Storage Conditions: Lyophilized Human IL-24 protein, His Tagshould be stored desiccated below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.76% HSA or BSA) . Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping: The product is shipped at ambient temperature.

Background: Interleukin-24 (IL-24) also known as Melanoma differentiation-associated gene 7 protein (MDA-7) is a member of the IL-10 family of cytokines. IL-24/MDA-7/IL-24 can induce apoptosis selectively in various cancer cells. Overexpression of IL-24 leads to elevated expression of several GADD family genes, which correlates with the induction of apoptosis. The phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase 14 (MAPK7/P38), and heat shock 27kDa protein 1 (HSPB2/HSP27) are found to be induced by this gene in melanoma cells, but not in normal immortal melanocytes. Human IL-24/MDA-7/IL-24 is secreted by activated peripheral blood mononuclear cells and is the ligand for two heterodimeric receptors, IL-22R1/IL-20R2 and IL-20R1/IL-20R2. Northern blot analysis revealed IL-24/MDA-7/IL-24 expression in human tissues associated with the immune system such as spleen, thymus, peripheral blood leukocytes and normal melanocytes. IL-24/MDA-7/IL-24 binding to either its endogenous receptors on human keratinocytes or to ectopically expressed receptors on baby hamster kidney cells leads to activation of the signal transducers and activators of transcription.
