Description

IL-21 (Human) ELISA Kit | E5052-100

Description: Interleukin-21 (IL-21) is a cytokine with broad pleiotropic actions that affect the differentiation and function of lymphoid and myeloid cells. IL-21 regulates both innate and adaptive immune responses and also exerts major effects on inflammatory responses that promote the development of autoimmune diseases and inflammatory disorders. IL-21 is expressed in activated human CD4+ T cells but not in most other tissues. In addition, IL-21 expression is up-regulated in Th2 and Th17 subsets of T helper cells, as well as T follicular cells. Regulation of the expression levels of IL-21 and IL-21R and blocking of their signal transduction pathways with blockers may be new treatment options for autoimmune diseases. ’s IL-21 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of IL-21 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coat on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of IL-21 in the sample.
