Description: IL28B also known as Interferon lambda-3 is a cytokine remotely related to type I interferons and the IL-10 family. It has antiviral, antitumor and immunomodulatory activities. It plays a critical role in the antiviral host defense, predominantly in the epithelial tissues. IL28B acts as a ligand for the heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor composed of IL10RB and IFNLR1, and receptor engagement leads to the activation of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway resulting in the expression of IFN-stimulated genes, which mediate the antiviral state. It plays a significant role in the antiviral immune defense in the intestinal epithelium and exerts an immunomodulatory effect by up-regulating MHC class I antigen expression. ’s IL28B (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of IL28B in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is p-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of IL28B in the sample.
