BACKGROUND: FUNCTION: Integrin α-4/β-7 (Peyer patches-specific homing receptor LPAM-1) is expected to play a role in adhesive interactions of leukocytes. It is a receptor for fibronectin and recognizes one or more domains within the alternatively spliced CS-1 region of fibronectin. Integrin α-4/β-7 is also a receptor for MADCAM1 and VCAM1. It recognizes the sequence L-D-T in MADCAM1. Integrin α-E/β-7 (HML-1) is a receptor for E-cadherin.
