[ Product Description ]

Magnesium is one of the most abundant minerals in the living cells, and plays important roles in many metabolic reactions such as polyphosphoric acid formation and photosynthesis in the chlorophyll.

[ Assay principle ]

Under alkaline condition, Xyridyl Blue-I(XB-I) - magnesium complex shows absorbance at 520 nm, and on the other hand, the absorbance by free XB-I at 600-680nm decreases.

[ Specifications ]
Assay principle: XB-I method (Colorimetric assay at 520-660 vs 700 nm)
Measuring wavelength: 660nm (reference 700 nm) is recommended.
Measuring at 520 nm vs 700 nm shows higher sensitivity but may be susceptible to various factors.
Specifity: Magnesium (Mg)
Measuring range: 0.05 - 3.5 mg/dL
Assay conditions: 5 minutes at room temperature (25 - 37 °C)
Applications: Serum, urine, saliva, cell lysate, tissue extract, plant extract, hair extract, food extract and water. This assay will be interfered by EDTA, hemoglobin, anticoagulants and high concentration of potassium.
Storage temperature: 2 - 8°C
Expiry date: 1 year after the day of manufacturing.
