Description
Mouse Eef2k Antibody (N-term) [APC00083G] | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution
Product Category: Polyclonal Antibodies
Host: Rabbit
Species Reactivity: M
Specificity: This Mouse Eef2k antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 178-205 amino acids from the N-terminal region of mouse Eef2k.
Cellular Localisation: N/A
Molecular Weight: 81739
Clone: Polyclonal
Gene Name: Eef2k
Gene ID: 13631
Function: Threonine kinase that regulates protein synthesis by controlling the rate of peptide chain elongation. Upon activation by a variety of upstream kinases including AMPK or TRPM7, phosphorylates the elongation factor EEF2 at a single site, renders it unable to bind ribosomes and thus inactive. In turn, the rate of protein synthesis is reduced.
Summary: Tissue Location: Ubiquitously expressed. Particularly abundant in skeletal muscle and heart
Form: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Storage: Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Application: WB
Dilution: WB--1:1000
Synonyms: Eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase, eEF-2 kinase, eEF-2K, Calcium/calmodulin-dependent eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase, Eef2k
