Specificity: This Mouse Myocd antibody is generated from a rabbit immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 743-777 amino acids from the C-terminal region of Mouse Myocd.
Cellular Localisation: Nucleus speckle. Note=Nuclear, with a punctate intranuclear pattern with exclusion from nuclei
Molecular Weight: 101400
Clone: Polyclonal
Gene Name: Myocd
Gene ID: 214384
Function: Smooth muscle cells (SM) and cardiac muscle cells-specific transcriptional factor which uses the canonical single or multiple CArG boxes DNA sequence. Acts as a cofactor of serum response factor (SRF) with the potential to modulate SRF-target genes. Plays a crucial role in cardiogenesis, urinary bladder development, and differentiation of the smooth muscle cell lineage (myogenesis) . Isoform 1 mediates the cardiac transcription factor MEF2C-dependent transcription. Isoform 1 and isoform 3 are more active than isoform 2 and isoform 4 in stimulating cardiac muscle promoters.
Summary: Tissue Location: Expressed in heart, aorta, and in smooth muscle cell-containing tissues: stomach, bladder and uterus. Isoform 1 and isoform 3 are predominantly expressed in cardiac muscle whereas isoform 4 and isoform 5 are predominantly expressed in SMC-rich tissues Isoform 3 is the most abundant isoform in the heart from embryo to adult.
Form: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Storage: Store at +4°C short term. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
