Alternate Name: G0S8, GIG31, Regulator of G-protein signaling 2, Cell growth-inhibiting gene 31 protein, RGS2, G0S8, RGS2

User Note: Optimal dilutions for each application to be determined by the researcher.

BACKGROUND: Regulator of G-protein signalling 2, 24kDa; G0 to G1 switch regulatory 8, 24kD. RGS2 reduces cAMP production by odorant-stimulated olfactory epithelium membranes by inhibiting the activity of adenylyl cyclase type III, the predominant adenylyl cyclase isoform in olfactory neurons. Whole-cell voltage clamp recordings of odorant-stimulated olfactory neurons indicate that endogenous RGS2 negatively regulates odorant-evoked intracellular signaling.
