Description
An antibiotic Isolated from fungus Penicillium sp. Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) activity inhibitor (IC₅₀ = 19.4 µM). Weak antagonist of human endothelin receptor A (ETA) and B (ETB). A potent aldose reductase inhibitor and a potent reversible, non-competitive soybean lipoxygenase-1 (LOX-1) inhibitor. Also acts as an antioxidant and a free radical scavenger.
