Description

SHMT2 polyclonal Antibody | BS6257 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Host: Rabbit

Reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat

Application: WB IHC IF

Application Range: WB: 1:500~1:2000 IHC/IF: 1:50~1:200

Background: Mammalian serine hydroxymethyltransferase (SHMT) is a tetrameric, pyridoxal phosphate (PLP) -dependent enzyme that catalyzes the reversible interconversion of serine and tetrahydrofolate to glycine and methylenetetrahydrofolate in the cytoplasm (cSHMT, SHMT1) and mitochondria (mSHMT, SHMT2) . cSHMT preferentially supplies one-carbon units for thymidylate biosynthesis, depletes methylenetetrahydrofolate pools for S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) synthesis by synthesizing serine, sequesters 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, and inhibits SAM synthesis.

Storage & Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity: SHMT2 polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of SHMT2 protein.

Molecular Weight: ~ 56 kDa

Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.

Alternative Names: GLYA; Glycine hydroxymethyltransferase; Serine hydroxymethyltransferase 2 (mitochondrial) ; Serine hydroxymethyltransferase mitochondrial; Serine methylase; SHMT 2; SHMT;

Immunogen: Recombinant full length Human SHMT2.

Conjugate: Unconjugated

Modification: Unmodification

Purification & Purity: The Antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE) .
