Description

TAO2 (phospho Ser181) Antibody | XPS-1029 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution

Host: Rabbit

Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat

Homology: N/A

Immunogen: TAO2 (Ser181) polyclonal antibody was raised against a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acids residues surrounding the phospho Ser181 of TAO2.

Research Area: Signal Transduction, Phospho-Specific

Tested Application: WB

Application: Human, mouse, rat and Xenopus have 100% amino acid sequence identity with the antigen used to raise the antibody. Applications include Dot Blots (DB) and Western Blots (WB) . Suitability for Immunohistochemistry (IHC) has not been determined. When internally tested under ideal conditions the working dilutions were 1:1000 for DB and WB.

Specificiy: TAO2 antibody is specific for Mr ~120k TAO2 phosphorylated at Ser181.

BACKGROUND: TAO (thousand and one amino acid) protein kinases mediate signaling from carbachol to p38 MAPK and ternary complex transcription factors. This has led to the proposal that the TAO protein kinases play an essential role in signaling from physiological agonists to the stress-responsive p38 MAPKs. Autophosphorylation of TAO may play a role in the mechanism of TAO activation. The MEK binding domain of TAO is autophosphorylated on both serine and threonine residues and Ser181 is located within this domain.
