Description
vWF-A1 Domain, Human, Residues 1238-1481, Glycosylated | V003 | Gentaur UK, US & Europe Distribution
Background: Human Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) is a multimeric glycoprotein, which is involved in binding coaggulaion factor VIII and in adhesion of platelets at sites of vascular damage. In this process the platelet receptor glycoprotein Ib-IX-V complex binds to the VWF-A1 domain. The VWF-A1 variant in this product contains longer N- and C-terminal poly-peptides (with 5 O-linked glycosylation sites), which prevent spontaneous binding of the VWF-A1 domain to platelet receptor GpIb-IX-V complex.
