Background: Waymouth's MB 752/1 medium is a chemically defined medium developed by Charity Waymouth. It was originally used to study the nutrition, metabolism and growth characteristics of mouse L strain subcell line L929 cells under serum-free conditions. Waymouth's MB 752/1 medium has now been expanded for the culture of whole organs and many other cell lines, such as cancer cell lines. Waymouth's MB 752/1 medium contains many kinds of amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts and other ingredients for cell culture, but does not contain protein, lipids or any growth factors.
